Manchester United star Mason Mount has received a special message from one of his close pals after he made his long-awaited return to training.

Mason Mount arrived at Old Trafford after Manchester United paid an initial £55m fee to sign him from Chelsea, with the ex-Blues star inheriting the No 7 shirt.

The 25-year-old United player had high expectations placed on his shoulders following his move last summer, with Mount a key transfer target for Erik ten Hag.

However, Mount has been reduced to only 12 appearances across all competitions this season and the England international has had to contend with injuries.

The former Chelsea star has struggled to make his mark at Old Trafford this season when he has played, with Mount recently spending a lengthy period on the sidelines.

Man Utd star Mount receives message

Mason Mount has been out of first-team action for Manchester United after spending four months out due to a calf injury.

The Three Lions international hasn’t played for United since the Red Devils’ 1-0 Premier League win over Luton Town at Old Trafford last November.

Mount was snapped in training at United on Wednesday and his Red Devils teammates wasted no time in sending messages ahead of his return.

Speaking on Instagram, he wrote: “Happy to be back on the grass and with the team!”

Arsenal star Declan Rice, who is close pals with Mount, also made sure that he sent his full support to his England teammate and left him a comment on his Instagram.

“Buzzing man,” he wrote, adding a heart emoji.

When will Mount return for Man Utd?

United manager Erik ten Hag has received a major boost after two Red Devils players returned to training following their recovery from injuries.

Mount is one of the aforementioned players and the other is United star Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who was spotted at the Carrington training complex on Tuesday.

However, it remains unclear if Mount will be ready in time for United’s upcoming quarter-final clash against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

The United star could be ready to return for the Red Devils after the international break, with Ten Hag’s men set to face Brentford away from home on 30th March.
