Manchester United beat Luton Town at Old Trafford on Saturday evening in another lacklustre performance.

Victor Lindelof was the hero, scoring the only goal as Manchester United beat Luton 1-0.

The performance was poor by United at Old Trafford but three points are the most important thing.

Here are five things we learned…

Victor Lindelof might be our best finisher

With Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund both missing massive chances, responsibility fell to central defender Victor Lindelof.

Lindelof saw the ball pop back to him near the edge of the box and he slotted it through the crowd and into the roof of the net.

A brilliant finish from the defender showing the attackers how it’s done.

Hojlund needs to take his chances

Coming off a brace in the Champions League it would’ve been safe to assume Rasmus Hojlund would’ve been filled with confidence.

Despite that, somehow he managed to avoid scoring in the Premier League again.

Hojlund missed two big chances in the game and really it defies belief that he hasn’t scored in the Premier League yet.

Andre Onana impressive again

He may not have had much to do, but he did everything required very well.

A handful of big saves denied Luton from shocking the Old Trafford crowd by scoring.

After such a turbulent opening few months at Old Trafford, Onana finally seems to have grown into the shirt and looks the part.

United win despite being poor

The last two Premier League fixtures have seen United win both in uninspiring fashion.

Against Fulham, it was left late and here against Luton it wasn’t left late, but the performance was tough to find positives from.

United missed countless chances yet managed to win regardless, against better teams, we need to improve in front of the goal.

Top four could be on the cards for United

Despite talks of Erik ten Hag being sacked he now finds himself five points behind the title contenders Tottenham and just six off Arsenal.

Three points separate United from Liverpool who occupy fourth and the Champions League position.

If United can get their act together and win a few games, top four is absolutely achievable.
