A move away from Manchester United now seems inevitable for Marcus Rashford.

The 27-year-old dropped a bombshell interview on Tuesday evening that confirmed Marcus Rashford is ready for “a new challenge”.

It comes just days after Ruben Amorim dropped Marcus Rashford from the matchday squad against Manchester City.

The Manchester United head coach suggested that Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho had failed to live up to the high standards Amorim expects of his players.

Reports this month have suggested that United would sell Rashford for £40m in 2025, but his hefty £300,000 per week wages are expected to be an obstacle.

What Marcus Rashford said about leaving Man United in 2020

This is certainly not the first time that Rashford has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

Back in 2020, Rashford was drawing interest from several top clubs around Europe, but his comments about his future were emphatic.

As quoted by The Independent, Rashford said: “For me, I never look beyond Manchester United.

“As a kid I’ve never looked beyond Manchester United in my mind, it wouldn’t sit right for me to be pulling on another shirt.”

Four years later, Rashford has now decided that this is the right time for him to leave.

Rashford’s attitude has been criticised and Amorim’s 3-4-3 system doesn’t appear to suit his strengths. It is clear that Rashford wants to leave without any animosity and as an academy graduate and a brilliant servant to this football club that is very respectable.

Where could Marcus Rashford go after Man United exit?

With an exit now looking inevitable, attention turns towards what is next for Rashford and it seems he has several options on the table.

PSG remain interested in Rashford, while Saudi Arabia is an extreme option for Rashford if he wanted to move outside of Europe.

Reports also suggest that the MLS appeals to Rashford but his high wages would likely be a stumbling block.

Transfer expert Graeme Bailey confirmed that United will consider loan offers for Rashford as a stepping stone to a permanent deal.

Premier League clubs such as Arsenal have also been mentioned as potential suitors, but it is up to Rashford whether he would want to join a direct rival.
