Manchester United have been linked with a move for Icelandic youngster Isak Bergmann Johannesson.
Swedish newspaper Expressen report United, Juventus and Liverpool have all sent scouts to watch him in action.
There is a reason why Johannesson is building up a big reputation. Here is a look at five facts about the talented teenager…
1) Johannesson, 17, is already a regular at club level. He plays in Sweden for top flight side IFK Norrkoping and has made 27 first team appearances.
2) The in-demand talent can play in a variety of forward roles. This season he has featured as a right winger, left winger, and in a central attacking midfield position.

3) Already Johannesson has 10 assists at first team level. He also has four goals to his name.
4) Johannesson began his career with Icelandic club IA Akranes, making his debut at 15, before being signed by Norrkoping.
5) The youngster has been prolific at youth level. In 13 games for Iceland’s under-17 side he scored 10 goals. He is already featuring for his country’s under-21 team.
What they say…
Norrkoping chief scout Stig Torbjornsen was quoted by The Mail: “There has been a lot of interest in Bergmann Johannesson. The best clubs in Europe have been here for him.
“It’s hard to say if we can keep him in January. A club with a lot of money could come along now or in six months.
“When something comes up that is good for all parties, something will happen.”
His teammate Jonathan Levi told Aftonbladet: “He should be a new record (sale). I hope and believe it. He is such an incredible player and personality.”
Footballing family
Johannesson was born in Sutton Coldfield, England, and so a move to the Premier League would likely appeal.
The youngster is the son of former Leicester City and Burnley midfielder Joey Gudjonsson.
His grandfather Gudjon Thordarson had spells at Stoke City, Barnsley, Notts County and Crewe Alexandra.
A worthwhile investment
Johannesson checks all the boxes for Manchester United and a move would be consistent with the club’s transfer strategy.
United have been active signing up young talent in the ages 16 to 18 range over the past two seasons from around Europe.
Summer additions Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo fitted into this, while other young additions like Hannibal Mejbri, Isak Hansen Aaroen, and Alejandro Garnacho represent United’s drive to sign exciting prospects.
While playing in a different league, he already has more first team goal contributions than the aforementioned players combined.
The attraction is obvious, as the players have a chance of becoming top class footballers and they are low cost gambles.
There will be a point where you can have too many, and it is not possible to keep them all happy, but Johannesson is a player worth considering on his own merits.
If United do win the race for his signature, he could prove to be a very effective addition for the future.
