Manchester United are close to wrapping up a deal for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports there is ‘total agreement’ between Manchester United and Real.

Price tag: The cost to sign Varane is set to be 50 million Euros with bonuses. That converts to £42 million with bonuses. It is a bargain for a player of Varane’s quality.
Personal terms: Varane has agreed personal terms with United. United are offering a five year contract.
Medical: Varane is set to undergo a medical at United in the ‘next 48 hours’.

Varane’s deal at Real Madrid was set to expire in 2022, which has led to them deciding to cash in.
United are signing a four times Champions League winner. Varane also won the World Cup in 2018.
He has played more than 30 league games in each of the last three seasons for Real.
United have been looking for a partner for Harry Maguire who can work as an upgrade on Victor Lindelof.
Last season United conceded 44 league goals, which was only the fifth best in the league, with set pieces a particular struggle. Varane can be a big help in addressing that weakness.
