Manchester United’s Premier League raid is set to continue with an exciting name after Mateus Fernandes.
The signing of Ederson is likely to be followed by West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes, with Man Utd the leading contenders for his signature.
However, if last year’s template is to be believed, more PL-proven players will follow the midfielder through the doors of Old Trafford.
Fabrizio Romano has shared that United are in active contact with one to make it happen.

Would YOU rather Man United pay £85m for Mateus Fernandes or £125m for Elliot Anderson?
Manchester United remain interested in both Premier League stars
Lewis Hall-Man Utd transfer update
United were linked to Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali at Newcastle, but it looks like Lewis Hall is emerging as the sleeper favourite.
The midfielder-turned-left-back has been surprisingly out of favour with Eddie Howe despite being one of the best talents in current English football.
United have liked Hall for a while, and his potential price tag also makes him an enticing option.
All those factors have combined to prompt United into making active contacts with the player, as Romano shared on his YouTube channel.
He said: “Over the last two-three days, Man Utd have maintained active contact with those close to Lewis Hall. They have a genuine interest in the player.
“Left-back remains a position they want to cover, and Hall is a player they really, really love at United.
“Then this depends on Newcastle’s stance on Sandro Tonali. Selling Hall after already selling Gordon and Tonali could be too much, so it could become a difficult deal to make.”
Man Utd need to act fast on Hall
Romano goes on to share that it’s extremely likely Tonali doesn’t finish this window as a Newcastle player.
What is a fair price to pay to sign Lewis Hall?
Do you want Manchester United to pursue a deal?
United walked away from the Tonali deal due to the potential finances involved, and the deal for Hall could become the same if they are slow.
If Tonali is sold before Hall, Newcastle will dig their heels in and demand crazy money to sell him, if they weren’t already.
The only way a deal for Hall is palatable is if it’s done before Tonali is sold, so it makes sense that they’ve renewed contacts before sealing the deal for Fernandes.
It will allow them to move to Hall quickly after sealing Fernandes, and hopefully get two of the most exciting PL talents of last season to the club.
