The now sacked head coach has to take some blame for these too, and we asked, what was Ruben Amorim’s biggest mistake?
One fan wrote: “His stubbornness with the 3-4-3 system, when he said himself that he didn’t have the players, shame he couldn’t adapt?”
A second response read: “He underestimated the Premier League and he was overconfident.”

It is quite interesting just from these comments that a theme emerged, of a coach who was determined to do things his way, and was reluctant to adapt.
Amorim’s personality was engaging, but it was also part of the problem. His inability to deal with constructive criticism from the Ineos hierarchy clearly led to relations breaking down with the board.
