Manchester United fans are convinced that Erik ten Hag will “unleash” summer signing Rasmus Hojlund against Arsenal after the club posted a teasing tweet.

United manager Ten Hag finally secured an out-and-out striking option in the transfer window with the arrival of Hojlund from Serie A side Atalanta.

Despite paying a hefty £72m fee, Hojlund has missed the opening stages of United’s campaign due to an injury he picked up in pre-season training with Atalanta.

However, the 20-year-old Denmark striker has been working on his fitness and has been spotted in United training ahead of his hotly anticipated debut for the club.

United fans react to club’s Hojlund post

United fans are excited about an imminent Hojlund debut after the club took to Twitter — now known as X — to tease supporters about the Denmark international.

The Red Devils’ Twitter account posted a photo of Hojlund sporting a United top, adding an hourglass emoji and a Denmark flag emoji as the caption.

“He scores against Arsenal,” one fan simply said.

Someone else added: “Get him in the starting 11.”

“Arsenal [are] in big, big trouble,” a third Twitter user wrote.

Another tweeted: “The last time we had a striker make his debut against Arsenal, he scored! Time to run it back.”

“The calm before the storm,” a fifth posted.

While a sixth fan commented: “Unleash him against Arsenal on Sunday.”

Ten Hag and Arteta speak on Hojlund

Speaking ahead of United’s trip to Arsenal, Ten Hag hinted that Hojlund could make the starting XI for the Premier League clash at the Emirates on Sunday.

“Yes, he’s [Hojlund] had a good training week,” he said at his press conference on Friday.

“Tomorrow, we will have a final training session but he’s doing well, he’s responding well.

“So, yeah, he’ll be available for Sunday’s game. I think he’s ready to start.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta also shared his early verdict on Hojlund, who he described as a “huge talent” at his pre-match press conference.

“He’s a huge talent, and he’ll have to prove that in this league,” he said.

“We know the history and these are extremely competitive games.

“It will be a big battle on Sunday and obviously we want to come away with three points.

“It is important before the international break to finish well and go into that on a high.”
