Manchester United made five major signings over the summer but one stands out as the best bit of business.
The priority at Manchester United was to overhaul the attacking department after only scoring 44 goals in the Premier League last season.
In total, United spent over £230m on new signings, with three new forwards joined by Diego Leon and deadline day arrival Senne Lammens.
Considering the Red Devils have no European football to offer, United’s transfer window was impressive, and Ruben Amorim has been backed by Ineos.
But one signing stands out as the best of the summer.

Bryan Mbeumo is Man United’s highest-rated signing
Earlier this week, Bryan Mbeumo was named United’s Player of the Month after making a strong impact since his summer move.
Mbeumo was signed for £65m from Brentford after a very lengthy transfer saga with the Premier League outfit. Ineos can be delighted with the deal, and it is widely viewed as the best signing this summer.
The Athletic ranked all 155 new arrivals to the Premier League this summer and Bryan Mbeumo was the highest on the list of any United signing in 34th place.
Benjamin Sesko ranked 35th, while Matheus Cunha came in at 76th and Senne Lammens was down in 80th.
On Mbeumo, they added: “United have a habit of turning great signings into disasters, but on paper, Mbeumo, with his age (26 last month), work ethic and ability to both score and create, should be a success. Should.
Bryan Mbeumo’s work ethic and attitude at Man United
Even before his arrival, Rio Ferdinand raved about Mbeumo’s attitude, saying he had been told about his professionalism at Brentford.
Throughout the summer, Amorim said United have a new transfer rule which will take the character of signings into account more than before. In Mbeumo, United have signed a consummate professional.
Mbeumo has already impressed Amorim, and he is quickly becoming a fan favourite around Old Trafford.

Given he is already off the mark for United after scoring against Grimsby Town and Burnley, it’s hardly a surprise that he is being considered the best signing of the summer.
It may have taken a while to strike an agreement with Brentford, but it already seems that Mbeumo was worth the wait.
