All five of Manchester United’s new signings will take time to settle into their new surroundings, but one new member of the squad has scooped two individual awards after the first month of the 2025/26 season.

The Premier League is taking a short break for the September internationals, which comes at a time when Manchester United are eager to win football matches.

After four matches, Ruben Amorim has managed just win after beating Burnley 3-2 at Old Trafford. United have suffered defeats to Arsenal and Grimsby Town, while drawing at Fulham.

United fans will get a better idea of Amorim’s new signings after the international break. They have all come into a team that underperformed last season, so they are expected to help improve results on the pitch.

Amorim’s side face Man City next weekend in their next outing, with the Red Devils hopeful of bridging an early gap over their rivals in the Premier League table.

Despite questionable results on the pitch, we are seeing signs that Ineos’ transfer strategy is being vindicated.

Bryan Mbeumo collects two awards in August

Although it took longer than expected for Bryan Mbeumo’s transfer from Brentford to cross the line, the Cameroon international has hit the ground running at United.

Ineos prioritised players with Premier League experience at the beginning of the transfer window, especially with their successful pursuits for Matheus Cunha and Mbeumo.

Amorim eased in Mbeumo during pre-season, with the player already seeing the benefits of that.

The 26-year-old has been United’s player of the month for August, after seeing off competition from fellow nominees Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt.

The vote, conducted on United’s official app, had supporters voting in their thousands.

It shows that the former Brentford star is already popular among United fans, as Ineos see benefits from a player who arrived with Premier League experience.

On top of that, Mbeumo was rewarded with the first Goal of the Month award for the new season for his goal against Burnley.

It is worth noting that Mbeumo’s only competition for the Goal of the Month award came from Bruno Fernandes, following his penalty kick in United’s only win.

Mbeumo was Man of the Match vs Burnley

An encouraging performance from Mbeumo in the recent win over Burnley will whet the appetite for United’s upcoming games.

Mbeumo was outstanding throughout the game, causing Burnley problems whenever he got in behind Scott Parker’s defence.

He helped United regain the lead at 2-1 following a clever cutback from Diogo Dalot and was worthy of the Man of the Match award.

Mbeumo will take part in his first Manchester derby when he returns from international duty with Cameroon.
