Manchester United are being heavily linked with Roma midfielder Manu Kone and he has been closely compared to Jude Bellingham.

A third midfield signing is needed to complete Manchester United’s summer rebuild after deals were struck for Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.

With several top targets already snapped up by other clubs, Ineos are being forced to flick through their pages of alternative targets and one of those is Manu Kone.

Kone has impressed at the 2026 World Cup this summer and his club future can take priority now that France’s tournament is over.

Manu Kone can be Man United’s Jude Bellingham

This summer’s World Cup is the latest evidence that United should sign Jude Bellingham at all costs.

The England star was built to play at Old Trafford, but Real Madrid told United that Bellingham is not for sale at any price.

So if Bellingham is not available, go for the next best thing. In Kone’s Bundesliga profile, his style of play was compared closely to that of the Madrid star.

“Physically imposing, quick, agile and a tireless worker, comparisons between Kone and Bellingham are inevitable,” read Kone’s profile.

Kone was compared to Bellingham because of their duelling in midfield and work rate – two traits that United need in a third midfield signing.

Man United ready to bid for Manu Kone

According to reports, there are as many as four Premier League clubs interested in Kone, so United are under pressure to get a deal over the line.

Roma have rejected a £34m bid already from one of the interested clubs, and United could be next to the negotiating table.

That is because Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport are reporting that United are in pole position to sign Kone with a £47 million bid expected from the Red Devils.

If that is true, then United may complete their midfield rebuild for as little as £130 million.
