Manchester United face tough competition from rival Premier League clubs in the race to sign Roma and France midfielder Manu Kone this summer, according to stunning reports.

Manu Kone has been away at the World Cup with France this summer and Les Bleus will play their final match in the competition against England on Saturday evening.

The 25-year-old French midfielder has been linked with Manchester United amid the Red Devils’ midfield rebuild of Michael Carrick’s first-team squad at Old Trafford.

However, Roma are believed to be keen to keep hold of Kone for the 2026-27 Serie A season, despite growing transfer interest from different Premier League sides.

Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are all showing signs of wanting Roma star Manu Kone

Manu Kone is under contract with Roma until 2029 and has impressed at the Stadio Olimpico since his initial loan move from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2024.

Journalist Eleonora Trotta has now claimed that Kone’s agents have been in “contact with several clubs” over a potential summer exit from the Italian club.

Posting on her YouTube channel, the Corriere dello Sport reporter added that Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal have all made “enquiries.”

“Roma are working to secure a transfer for Manu Kone, with the player already instructing his French-based representatives to explore potential opportunities,” Eleonora Trotta said, as per The Peoples Person.

“His agents have been in contact with several clubs as they look to find him a move that represents a step up in his career while also improving his salary.

“Among the clubs that have made enquiries are Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal.

“While none has emerged as a clear frontrunner, Kone remains firmly on the shortlist of players being closely monitored by several Premier League sides.”

Man Utd are currently in the strongest position to land Manu Kone ahead of rival Premier League clubs

Man Utd have already welcomed the arrivals of Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa as part of their midfield revamp this summer.

The Red Devils are still tipped to sign another midfielder and Eleonora Trotta explained that United are the best positioned to sign Kone from Roma right now.

“Manchester United are believed to have made the most progress so far, although it remains to be seen whether the other interested clubs will step up their pursuit,” she added.

“Roma, for their part, are prepared to negotiate a sale but only on their own terms. The club has no intention of letting Kone leave at a cut-price fee and will only sanction a transfer if their valuation is met.”

Man Utd-linked Kone has made 82 appearances for Roma and netted four times and registered six assists for the Serie A club.
