Manchester United have completed a double midfield deal for Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos.

A midfield rebuild was on the cards for Manchester United this summer and Ineos will consider the job two-thirds complete with deals done for Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos.

Both signings were done with a relatively small budget. Tielemans cost £35m via his Aston Villa release clause, while a £48m fee for Santos was agreed with Chelsea.

The two midfielders have signed five-year contracts at Old Trafford, but their weekly wages have so far been kept under wraps.

Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos wages

The salaries given to Tielemans and Santos are yet to be revealed, but what we can look at is what they earned at their former clubs.

According to reliable football finance website Valuball, Santos was earning £60,000 per week at Chelsea, equating to £3.1 million per year.

However, it can be expected that the 22-year-old has been given a pay rise at United in his new five-year deal.

As for Tielemans, his reported wage at Villa was £170,000 per week, or £8.8 million per year.

Tielemans has been given a long-term contract at United despite already being 29 years old. There is a chance that the Red Devils simply matched his pay from Villa Park.

Ineos are keeping Man United’s wage bill in control

Ineos have retaken a firm grasp on United’s wage bill since taking charge control at Old Trafford.

The latest figures had United’s wage bill at £313 million, below rivals Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.

The departure of Casemiro, United’s highest earner on £375,000 per week, will be significant to the wage bill. The same goes for Jadon Sancho, who was earning around £250,000 per week at United.

New signings under Ineos have been given much lower wages compared to the marquee arrivals under Ed Woodward, and fans can expect that to continue this summer.
