Manchester United summer signing Sergio Reguilon has revealed that a Manchester City legend would make his star-studded ‘dream’ five-a-side team.
Reguilon was Erik ten Hag’s fifth summer signing of the window, with the Spanish full-back arriving at Old Trafford on deadline day as part of a season-long loan.
The 26-year-old defender has stepped up at left-back for United this season after Luke Shaw was sidelined due to injury and Tyrell Malacia’s current injury absence.
Reguilon, who was signed from Tottenham, has impressed United fans with his early performances and was praised for his display against Bayern Munich last month.
But the Spurs loanee has been absent from United’s last two fixtures after he picked up an injury in the Red Devils’ 1-0 win against Burnley at Turf Moor last month.

Reguilon picks no United player in five-a-side team
United summer signing Sofyan Amrabat, who arrived from Fiorentina on a loan deal, has filled in as a makeshift left-back following Reguilon’s injury.
While there is hope that Reguilon is inching closer to his return, the Spain international has been busy revealing the players who would make his ‘ultimate’ five-a-side team.
Manchester United’s official website posted a Q&A video with Reguilon, who was tasked with building a five-a-side team with players he has played alongside.
No current United player made Reguilon’s list — it might be too soon considering how long he’s been at the club — but all five of his picks are fellow Spaniards.
Reguilon’s selection included Sergio Ramos, who he played alongside at Real Madrid and Spain, as well as City legend David Silva and Barcelona fan-favourite David Villa.
Legendary former Barcelona midfield duo Andres Iniesta and Xavi were the other two players that Spain star Reguilon selected for his team.
Posted below are Reguilon’s picks for his dream five-a-side team.
- Sergio Ramos
- Andres Iniesta
- Xavi
- David Villa
- David Silva
United fans hopeful for Reguilon’s return
Reguilon’s absence in the United backline has been felt, especially as Amrabat has been moved out of his preferred defensive midfield role as a left-back substitute.
The Tottenham loanee wasn’t able to recover in time for United’s sensational 2-1 comeback win over Brentford at Old Trafford ahead of the international break.
However, the October international break will have provided Reguilon with additional time to recover from his injury ahead of his potential return against Sheffield United.
Reguilon and Amrabat were both spotted in training ahead of United’s trip to Bramall Lane on Saturday, which appears to be a positive sign for the Spaniard’s recovery.
