Manchester United have suggested disappointing news as an update has emerged about the availability of Sergio Reguilon ahead of this weekend’s game against Brentford.
Manchester United, via their website, have confirmed that the Spaniard is close to returning from the hamstring injury he suffered against Burnley at Turf Moor but won’t be ready in time for the game against Thomas Frank’s side this Saturday.
The report says that the club still awaits updates on the fitness of the former Tottenham Hotspur left-back so it seems that Sofyan Amrabat may continue to deputise as the club’s stand-in left-back.
The return of Sergio Reguilon could have been a huge positive for the Red Devils but that will now seemingly have to wait until after the international break. Yesterday, the MEN had suggested United were exploring whether Reguilon was ready to return.

Mainoo Fitness update
As well as Reguilon, United have also provided more updates on the fitness of certain other key members of the squad including Kobbie Mainoo.
The United site states that the teenage midfielder, who hasn’t featured for the club at all this season, is ‘closing in’ on his return to the first-team picture.
The return of the midfielder would be a welcomed boost for Erik Ten Hag and it seems that reality is not too far away for the Dutchman.
Martinez fitness update also provided
As well as the good news about the return of Mainoo, there has also been another injury update on the fitness of Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez.
The World Cup winner has been suffering from a foot injury that he picked up against Arsenal and United have confirmed that the former Ajax man has undergone surgery and will be on the sidelines for a while.
United’s defensive frailties could well be down to the injuries they have suffered and the hope will be that these issues could subside after the October international break.
Reguilon’s absence would be a big blow for the Red Devils with there being no sign of Luke Shaw or Tyrell Malacia returning from injury anytime soon.
