Manchester United fans have brutally slammed “finished” Casemiro after the former Real Madrid star’s “shocking” performance against Brentford at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The 31-year-old Brazilian midfielder was praised for his debut season at United and his immediate impact at Old Trafford after his £70m move from Madrid in 2022.
However, Casemiro has come under significant criticism this season and has even been targeted by some teams due to his struggling form in a United shirt.
The United star was once again placed under the spotlight after his first-half performance, with Casemiro at fault for Mathias Jensen’s opener for Brentford.
Casemiro recklessly lost possession without being under pressure in midfield and United failed to clear their lines from an immediate Brentford counterattack.
The former Madrid midfielder failed with a rescuing tackle to make up for his mistake and then Victor Lindelof’s attempted clearance went straight to a Brentford player.
An unmarked Jensen then fired a low strike from inside the box past an under-pressure Andre Onana, who was criticised for not keeping the ball out of the net.

United fans unhappy with Casemiro
“Sad to say it but Casemiro is indeed finished,” one fan said.
Another tweeted: “Casemiro deserves another red card for that awful pass. Our club is finished.”
A third claimed: “[Scott] McTominay has to start over Casemiro, bro. Casemiro is shocking.”
“Casemiro is finished at this top level,” someone else posted.
While one X, AKA Twitter, user wrote: “Casemiro shocking with the ball, we are missing [Lisandro] Martinez and [Luke] Shaw so badly.”
And a fifth added: “Casemiro’s lack of awareness [and] shocking passing has been a problem all season […].”
One fan commented: “Misplace a pass, slide to the ground immediately in a desperate effort to win it back. Casemiro is beyond finished, bro.”
Someone else simply said: “I’m sorry but Casemiro is finished.”
International break arrives in time for United
Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag will welcome October’s international break after an extremely disappointing start to the season for United.
The United boss won’t be taking any time to rest because Ten Hag will now know it’s crunch time to turn things around or his run at Old Trafford could come to an end.
Despite all of the new arrivals in the summer, United have failed to click in many of their performances this season and they’ve looked a shadow of their former selves.
Ten Hag has had to deal with a boatload of injuries, sure, but fans have had their heads in their hands on most occasions when the full-time has blown.
Rasmus Hojlund has impressed for United this season and, without question, has been a redeeming aspect from an otherwise disappointing run of form for the club.
But the issues surrounding players like Casemiro and Onana must be resolved for both United and Ten Hag ahead of the international break ending.
