Leny Yoro is excited with his big move to Manchester United, which has been received with much acclaim.

A report in Spanish newspaper AS has hailed Yoro’s talent as comparable to Lamine Yamal, high praise after the teenager’s performances for Spain at Euro 2024.

Real Madrid were favourites to sign Yoro before Manchester United stepped in, and new comments from the French defender highlight why the move to United excites him so much.

Yoro talked up the Premier League as the world’s best, indicating this may be a better move for him than La Liga after all.

He told United club media: “For me, this is the biggest championship in the world,” he told us. “For me, the Premier League… this is where the football fully exists.

“So the fans, the level – because the level is crazy there, there is not an easy game – and, for me, the Premier League is the biggest in the world.”

Premier League will sharpen Leny Yoro’s talents

Real Madrid do have one major advantage over Manchester United right now, Champions League football.

If all goes to plan, Manchester United will be joining Real in the competition in the 2025/26 season.

In terms of the domestic league, you won’t get much argument suggesting La Liga is better than the Premier League, and this is where Yoro will play the majority of his games.

For his development, Yoro will be better off playing at a higher level week-in and week-out.
