Manchester United new boy Leny Yoro made his first appearance for the club in pre-season against Rangers.
Sometimes there is nothing quite like jumping right into the deep end. Leny Yoro did not have time to get nervous about his first Manchester United appearance, because it happened so quickly.
Less than 48 hours since Leny Yoro’s Manchester United transfer was announced, he was pulling on the shirt and lining up as part of a starting XI.
Yoro, 18, was praised by new teammate Andre Onana, and also picked out for praise on MUTV.

Leny Yoro ‘debut’ a success
Leny Yoro’s real debut will come in a competitive game, however, this was the next best thing. He helped Manchester United keep a clean sheet in a 2-0 win v Rangers.
Yoro left French side Lille to sign with Manchester United, and there is high interest across the Channel in how he is faring at his new club.
RMC Sport described the game as a ‘successful debut for Leny Yoro’, adding, ‘barely transferred, already on the pitch.’
Made In Foot described it as a ‘baptism of fire’ for Yoro, noting how he looked ‘at ease’.
Les Transferts wrote: “Leny Yoro’s future at Manchester United looks bright. At just 18 years old, he has already demonstrated exceptional maturity and talent. If his debut is any indication of what is to come, the Red Devils can expect to see a new star shine in the Premier League sky.”
While Foot365 noted: “The Frenchman should establish himself as one of the leaders of the Manchester defense this season.”
Positive start for Yoro
It was important for Manchester United to get Leny Yoro settled in, and the game against Rangers was the perfect start for him.
Yoro completed 92 per cent of his passes, had 51 touches of the ball, made one block, once clearance, and won the one tackle he attempted.
Yoro’s price tag could quite easily cause people to forget how young Yoro is, younger than new teammate Kobbie Mainoo. And so can the way he plays.
Like Mainoo, Yoro looks like he has been playing for years, and he can be an excellent addition to the club.
