Manchester United’s luck with injuries this season has been far better compared to last even though that wasn’t a high bar to clear at all.

However, that isn’t how the season started, as Leny Yoro, the marquee acquisition, found himself on the sidelines for more than three months on just his second appearance.

It gave Man Utd fans a deja vu feeling of last season’s injury nightmare which derailed the campaign completely.

Fortunately, the situation didn’t get much worse and Yoro has been allowed to take his time and not rush back as there’s no need to do so.

Now, after Harry Maguire’s injury update, United might actually feel the need to get Yoro in the squad over the next few weeks.

Right on cue, the Frenchman has sent a message that every United fan wanted to hear.

Leny Yoro injury update

Since undergoing a successful surgery on the metatarsal issue he suffered vs Arsenal, Yoro has slowly worked his way back to fitness.

There have been no setbacks in recovery, the kind that has ruled Tyrell Malacia out for nearly a year and a half.

He was recently seen without a protective boot and Erik ten Hag’s update on Yoro also indicated that his progress was going according to plan.

Now, the player himself has taken to Instagram and posted a video of him jogging on a treadmill with a four-word message that will incite a huge sigh of relief in every United fan.

He simply said, “On the way back” on his Instagram stories and with that, the countdown to his competitive debut for United begins.

Predicting Leny Yoro’s Man Utd debut date

Yoro is stepping up his recovery at the best possible time since the next game is on October 19 after the international break.

It is highly unlikely that he is risked straight away, especially as there is no urgent need to do so in the wake of Victor Lindelof’s encouraging return from injury.

Yoro has also reportedly targeted a game for his return and with another international break in November, easing him back in the away game vs Ipswich on November 24 after that break seems like the right thing to do.

Of course, that might get expedited in the unfortunate event that Maguire is joined on the sidelines by more of his centre-back partners.

In that case, giving him a few minutes before the break, in the home game vs Leicester City on November 10 might be a scenario.

In any case, the recovery of Yoro should be of priority to the club since he’s as much a long-term investment as he is a player to help for now.
