Jadon Sancho made his first Premier League start at the weekend, and it did not go according to plan.
United won the game against Wolves 1-0, but Sancho’s individual performance was not one he will remember fondly as he struggled to have any impact on the game.
Sancho will get better, he is still building up his fitness and adjusting to the intensity of the Premier League.
With 50 goals for Borussia Dortmund at just 21, Sancho has the ability to make a big impact for Manchester United.

So much so, that his teammate last season compared him with Cristiano Ronaldo, a player Sancho is set to link up with at Manchester United.
Full-back Raphael Guerreiro was quoted by The Express: “Jadon is still very young, but has already played an outstanding role for us in the past two years. He has the gift of being able to make the difference – with passes, dribbles or goals
“Cristiano is one of the best in the world and to ever be as good as him, Jadon still has a lot of work to do, a lot.
“He has everything you need, though, to be just as good as Cristiano, maybe even better someday.”
On track and ready to learn
There will likely never be another Ronaldo and even getting close to achieving the success he has may seem impossible for a young player like Sancho to live up to.
But on an individual basis, Sancho is going great, scoring more first team goals at a young age than Ronaldo did before he was 21.
Now Sancho gets the chance to learn alongside a true great like Ronaldo on a daily basis.

This will help him show how far off Ronaldo he is and how much further he has to go, while also inspiring him to emulate some of the professionalism and dedication the Portugal international has applied to his career.
If Sancho can look after himself and keep focus off the pitch as Ronaldo has been able to do, then he has a chance of improving his game substantially on the pitch.
Seeing the pair link up over the next two years will be a joy to behold and Ronaldo’s impact will be felt years after his spell is over.
