Jadon Sancho has issued an apology at Dortmund already, Erik ten Hag won’t believe what he’s hearing

Jadon Sancho has sealed his loan move away from Manchester United to begin a second chapter at Borussia Dortmund.

After the initial falling out between Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag and talented but frustrating winger Jadon Sancho, the pair were unable to reconcile their differences.

All it would have taken was one word from Sancho… ‘sorry’.

Even up until late December, Sancho’s stance remained clear, that he was unwilling to apologise to his manager for his social media outburst in early September, despite pleas from coaches and teammates.

Jadon Sancho has apologised… to Dortmund

It seems Jadon Sancho does know how to say ‘sorry’. He just chose not to.

A video released on Borussia Dortmund’s Instagram feed showed Sancho meeting players and staff at the German club behind the scenes.

It included an exchange which saw Sancho being ribbed by staff for making them undertake ‘the latest medical check ever’.

This was because Sancho arrived in Germany at around 10pm on Wednesday night, and Dortmund wanted to get the medicals done immediately, to announce the deal on Thursday.

Sancho responded by apologising for his lateness. The irony won’t be lost on any body at Manchester United.

He responded: “Sorry guys I’m sorry.”

Erik ten Hag won’t believe it

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is probably long past caring what Jadon Sancho may or may not have to say, but even he might be stunned at hearing the word ‘sorry’ come out of the winger’s mouth.

This was all that was required of the 23-year-old. He could have been playing for the team over the past few months, and he surely would have helped. Rasmus Hojlund has needed a creative winger.

United will have regrets that the situation has reached the stage it did, but they would not have expected such an immature response from Sancho over the past few months as the one which materialised.

Now, with his transfer value at rock bottom, he is back at Dortmund attempting to revive his career, so that United might be able to get a fee they can sell him for without being too embarrassed.
