Gary Neville singled out Mason Mount as part of ‘five’ key concerns that Ineos must look at sorting out at Manchester United after the Liverpool match on Sunday.
The Red Devils punched their ticket back to the Champions League for the 2026-27 campaign after Manchester United’s 3-2 Premier League win over Liverpool.
Mason Mount was an unused substitute for Red Devils interim boss Michael Carrick, who has only three Premier League matches left in his current reign this season.
The 27-year-old ex-Chelsea star has featured sporadically under Michael Carrick in recent months after previously playing a key role under Ruben Amorim this season.

Gary Neville tells Ineos what his immediate four issues at Man Utd are ahead of the summer transfer window
Speaking after Manchester United’s win over Liverpool, Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville turned his attention to the complexion of the Red Devils’ first-team squad.
The 51-year-old former Man Utd captain feels that Ineos must bring two midfielders to Old Trafford in the summer ahead of the 2026-27 Premier League campaign.
Neville’s summer transfer shopping list for United would also include another centre-back and a left-back option to allow further rotation with defender Luke Shaw.
“They are the four priorities right now,” he said on Sky Sports’ The Gary Neville Podcast.
“They’re the players I would look at adding to this squad.”

Gary Neville thinks that Mason Mount could ‘unlock’ a fifth transfer option for Man Utd in the summer
Mason Mount’s spell at Old Trafford has been curtailed by injuries and the former England international has struggled to find his best Chelsea form at Man Utd.
Neville suggested that the Red Devils could explore a potential player swap deal with another Premier League club and use United No 7 Mount as part of the transfer.
“Look, if you could then maybe trade Mason Mount for someone else who maybe can play in and out and can be a bit more flexible across the midfield and forward line then I would say go for a fifth,” he said.
“But if you can’t, I would say those four areas are the priority and they’ve got to be top-notch, those players.”
Mount has netted three times and registered an assist in 22 matches across all competitions for Man Utd in the 2025-26 campaign at Old Trafford.
