Ineos laid out plans for ‘Project 150’ after completing their takeover over Manchester United.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe completed his minority takeover of Manchester United hoping to shift focus back onto footballing success at Old Trafford.
It has now been 12 years since United last won the Premier League, but Ineos and Ratcliffe are determined to get the club back on the throne of English football.
CEO Omar Berrada laid out plans for United to win the Premier League by 2028 – dubbed ‘Project 150’ as it will be the club’s 150th anniversary.
“I think it’s the club’s 150-year anniversary in 2028… if our trajectory is leading to a very good place in that sort of timeframe then we’d be very happy with that. Because it’s not easy to turn Manchester United into the world’s best football team,” Berrada said, as quoted by The Athletic.

Liverpool have handed Man United motivation for ‘Project 150’
Sir Alex Ferguson famously said that his greatest challenge as Manchester United manager was knocking Liverpool ‘off their perch’.
During his 26 years as manager, Ferguson won a staggering 13 Premier League titles, taking United’s total figure to a record-breaking 20 league titles.
Unfortunately, that figure was matched by Liverpool this weekend with Arne Slot’s side winning their second Premier League title.
It has sparked conversation about who is now England’s most successful club with both sides level on league titles.
Rio Ferdinand argues United are still bigger than Liverpool but admits Liverpool are now “the most successful club in the land”.
Meanwhile, United are slumped down in 14th in the Premier League table. Liverpool’s title success rubbed salt in the wounds, but Ruben Amorim should use it as motivation to get the Red Devils back to where they belong.
Gary Neville and Paul Scholes on Liverpool overtaking Man United
United legends Gary Neville and Paul Scholes were part of Ferguson’s iconic teams that completely overshadowed Liverpool in the Premier League.
After watching United’s arch-rivals lift the league title on the weekend, though, they were keen to point out the gulf in quality between the two clubs at the minute.
Scholes predicts Liverpool will win another title before United are even in position to challenge at the top again.
Meanwhile, Neville urged United to react after watching Liverpool lift the trophy.
“It is a sobering day,” Neville said on Sky Sports.
“It is a massive deal. When you think of the importance of a league title, the managers at Liverpool and United always talk about your bread and butter being the league.

“The painful thing to say is the debate is over for a period until United become successful again and win leagues.
“It should cause real tremors at Old Trafford. Liverpool will be the most successful club after today, and that should cause heartache and pain.”
