Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made it very clear that Manchester United are currently a club struggling financially.
Back in March in an interview with club legend Gary Neville, Sir Jim Ratcliffe revealed that Manchester United were going bust by the end of the year before Ineos stepped up.
The losses suffered by the Red Devils over the last three years are staggering, and it has put Ineos in a terrible position to try and financially support Ruben Amorim this summer.

Reports suggest Ineos want to raise £100m in player sales this summer to try and bolster the transfer budget available for their own signings.
However, that will hardly cover the £89m already spent by United this summer on owed transfer fees. There has been a push to try and raise cash through other means such as the 2025 post-season tour of Asia.

Man United benefit from £200m Uefa payout
United’s only remaining aim this season is to win the Uefa Europa League. Amorim has confirmed that he is willing to rest players in the Premier League to focus on the European competition.
The money earned from qualifying for the Champions League would be a huge boost to United’s accounts, while it would also help attract top-class talent over the summer window.
According to The Mirror, United are already looking at a cash injection from Uefa as a result of players featuring in Euro 2024.
Uefa are distributing £200m to clubs who released players for both the Euro 2024 and Nations League fixtures.
United had eight players in Euro 2024, meaning they are set to earn £2.7million.
Arch-rivals Manchester City earned the most of any Premier League side with £4million, while Liverpool and Arsenal also pipped the Red Devils.
How much will Man United earn from winning the Europa League
United’s entire season hinges on winning the Europa League. Up next is the first leg of the semi-final against Athletic Bilbao.
Qualifying for the Champions League would provide an £85m boost to United’s accounts next season, and that doesn’t even include the prize money earned from winning the Europa League.
According to the Uefa distribution model, winning the Europa League final would provide an immediate £7.3m payout to United.
Reaching the semi-finals guaranteed an extra £2.4m payout, so Amorim’s success in Europe is making a huge impact on the club’s finances.
There are also payouts depending on each result, with £540,000 handed out for each win in the group stage.
Considering United remain unbeaten in Europe this season – and are the only team to boast that record – Ineos can expect a big payout from Uefa.
