Ian Wright hails Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund, predicts big performance against West Ham United

Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Sunday afternoon as Erik ten Hag takes his side down to East London to face West Ham United.

The Premier League takes focus for Manchester United just days after another disappointing Europa League result.

United drew 1-1 at Fenerbahce on Thursday night, meaning Erik ten Hag has taken just three points from three European games this season.

United did though beat Brentford in the Premier League last weekend and are now looking to beat another London side in West Ham United.

Both managers are under pressure with both United and West Ham linked with a move for Edin Terzic.

Ten Hag and Julen Lopetegui really need results right now and this clash at the London Stadium is a vital one.

Ian Wright on Rasmus Hojlund

United at least have a dangerous front three to call upon on Sunday afternoon.

Alejandro Garnacho scored the equaliser against Brentford by firing home Marcus Rashford’s cross before Rasmus Hojlund bagged the winner.

Jamie Carragher has hailed the trio whilst drawing particular attention to Hojlund.

The Dane is back from injury and is already making an impact having scored against both Porto and Brentford.

Hojlund is certainly United’s best striking option ahead of Joshua Zirkzee right now and Ian Wright has offered praise.

Speaking on Stick to Football, Wright predicted a 3-2 United win against West Ham and picked out Hojlund as the key man.

Wright hailed Hojlund’s deft finish against Brentford and believes the United striker is ‘in the mode’ in front of goal, backing him to score twice against West Ham.

“I loved the way Hojlund finished that chance,” said Wright.

“He’s in the mode – I can see him getting two goals here,” he added.

Hojlund will hope to repeat the trick against West Ham

That is big praise from Wright and it looks like he is seeing something special as a former goalscorer himself.

Hojlund certainly finished well against Brentford last week and fans will remember him scoring a superb goal against West Ham last season.

Hojlund opened the scoring in a 3-0 United win over West Ham at Old Trafford, picking the ball up from 20 yards out before driving forward.

The Dane shimmied away from one West Ham defender before quickly smashing the ball into the bottom corner on his weaker right foot.

That was a fantastic United win and with Garnacho scoring twice on that day, Hojlund will be hoping for a similar successful day – both personally and as a team – against West Ham today.
