Manchester United have welcomed three new signings to the club over the winter transfer window.
After a poor start to the season, Manchester United were under pressure to back Ruben Amorim with some reinforcements this month.
However, United find themselves limited by Profit and Sustainability Rules so Amorim expected a quiet January window.
One of United’s top priorities was a new left wing-back and Patrick Dorgu was signed for £25m from Lecce to address that need. Diego Leon also joined to strengthen United’s left flank but he will only join up with Amorim’s squad in the summer.
Dorgu was unveiled in front of Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon alongside new centre-back signing Ayden Heaven.

Ruben Amorim is pleased with Man United’s business
United’s issue at left wing-back was resolved, but Amorim wanted United to sign a striker on deadline day.
Unfortunately, United have missed out on Mathys Tel with the Bayern Munich forward set to join Tottenham on loan.
Ending the winter window without any attacking reinforcements may be considered by many as a failure, but Manchester Evening News report that Amorim is pleased with the club’s business.
United’s hierarchy and Amorim are happy with the three deals completed in the last month. They believe Leon, Dorgu and Heaven are all “high-potential recruits for the long-term”.
All three signings follow the new transfer strategy implemented by Ineos to sign up-and-coming youngsters at cheap prices.
Ineos owe Ruben Amorim a big summer window
United have had to be cautious with their spending over the last month in order to avoid a PSR breach in the summer.
But the latest 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace exposed United’s weaknesses and lack of quality. This is a side crying out for a rebuild and a large part of that takes place in the transfer window.
There have been signs of progress under Amorim and he deserves heavy investment in the summer after being thrown in the deep end this season.
Thankfully, United’s patient approach this past month should mean there is a sizeable budget in the summer. A world-class centre-forward will be a top priority, and Amorim will have his eyes on Viktor Gyokeres.
The money saved from Marcus Rashford’s exit should help to ease PSR concerns. If he completes a permanent £40m move to Aston Villa in the summer then that will provide a huge boost to the budget.
