Manchester United’s academy has several youngsters who are beginning to make themselves undeniable to Ruben Amorim through performances.

Adam Lawrence will be keen for some of his U18s to step into the Manchester United first-team this season after some truly incredible performances.

James Scanlon is banging on Ruben Amorim’s door after his latest performance, which saw him make it 17 goal contributions in 18 games.

Additionally, Chido Obi is also a name that could make the step up. United fans are clamouring for the 17-year-old to replace Rasmus Hojlund up front.

Amir Ibragimov is another as he could fill the gap left by Marcus Rashford.

However, for those who have kept up with the academy all season, there is one attacking youngster who is definitely worth getting excited about, Gabriele Biancheri.

What Manchester United think of Gabriele Biancheri after Como bid

It could be argued that Biancheri has been United’s standout academy player this season, with 20 goals scored across U18 and U21 football.

Due to this talent, United received a deadline day approach from Como to sign Biancheri – which United immediately rejected.

Now, United in Focus understands via Graeme Bailey that there is a very good reason for this – with the club rating the Wales U19 star very highly.

It is understood that Biancheri is “very highly regarded” within the club, which explains why United were not entertaining the offer from the Serie A side.

There is an expectation that Biancheri will get pre-season with Amorim and the first-team, assuming he does not break out before then in the back end of this season.

If something goes wrong and Biancheri is not handed his breakthrough then a loan will be looked at.

Biancheri is keen to keep representing Wales over Italy, which suggests that a move to Italy does not appeal anyway.

Biancheri could be a really exciting option for Ruben Amorim

With Biancheri’s promotion to the first-team and a debut firmly being planned – we can begin to get excited about where the player signed from Cardiff in 2023 will fit in.

Biancheri is expected to return from injury shortly and will be hoping to continue right where he left off and start scoring for the U21s.

With Amorim often preferring a physically dominant striker, Biancheri has recently shined as a left-sided inside forward in the FA Youth Cup. This is exactly the role United needed to reinforce after Rashford’s loan exit, with Biancheri offering a solution.

Amorim will love Biancheri’s dribbling, creativity and clinical goal-scoring from this position and this is where we can picture the 18-year-old breaking through – competing with Alejandro Garnacho for minutes.

Biancheri deserves his opportunity to impress at a higher level, and with Obi also knocking on the door, the pair could soon be linking up for the senior side after being so dangerous in youth football this season.
