Manchester United have finally announced the signing of Danish wing-back Patrick Dorgu.
The 20-year-old arrives in Manchester as the club’s second major signing of the window following the confirmation of Ayden Heaven’s move to Manchester United on Saturday.
United are set to pay an initial £24.7m for Dorgu with add-ons potentially taking the deal closer to £30m.
Ruben Amorim’s side are set to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon and Patrick Dorgu is reportedly in attendance at Old Trafford for the match. He could be unveiled to supporters before kick-off at 2pm.

While Dorgu will be unavailable for the Palace match, it will not be long until United fans get their first glimpse at the athletic wing-back in action.

Winners from Patrick Dorgu deal
Ruben Amorim: Despite expecting a relatively quiet window, Ruben Amorim has now welcomed two defenders into his squad.
Ever since his opening match against Ipswich Town, Amorim has wanted a new left wing-back and his wish has now been answered.
The Portuguese head coach will be delighted to get a deal for Dorgu over the line. United are still adapting to Amorim’s 3-4-3 system and one of the biggest issues to date has been the lack of natural wing-backs available for selection.

Diogo Dalot: Speaking of players who have struggled to fit in at wing-back…
Diogo Dalot has not only had to adapt to Amorim’s new system, but he has had to do it on his weaker side. The Portuguese defender has had to fill in at left wing-back for much of the current campaign.
However, Dorgu’s arrival means Dalot can return to his favoured right-hand side. He will face competition from Noussair Mazraoui for a starting spot, but Dalot has played his best football on the right and Mazraoui is capable of dropping back into defence.
Alejandro Garnacho: Another player who will be rubbing his hands together at Dorgu’s arrival.
Garnacho has been linked to Napoli this window, but provided he stays put at Old Trafford, he now has a new partner on the left side of attack.
Dorgu is an athletic “machine” who thrives going forward. There is potential for an exciting relationship between Alejandro Garnacho and Dorgu on United’s left.
Ineos: The final winner from the Dorgu deal is United’s ownership.
The transfer strategy since the takeover has shifted to scouting exciting youngsters, and Dorgu is the latest name on the list.
At just 20 years old, United are confident that there is still plenty of improvement to come from the Denmark international. Hopefully in a few years we look back on this £25m deal as a bargain.
Losers from Patrick Dorgu deal
Tyrell Malacia: Dorgu’s arrival leaves no space in the squad for Erik ten Hag’s first signing – Tyrell Malacia.
Malacia has already said goodbye to United teammates, but his proposed move to Benfica has since collapsed.
Regardless, Malacia is still expected to leave United this month after tumbling down Amorim’s pecking order.
Luke Shaw: Another out-of-favour left-back who now faces an uncertain future.
Shaw returned to training last week after another lengthy injury absence, and it is becoming harder and harder to see a future for him under Amorim.
Dorgu will likely become a regular starter on the left, meaning Luke Shaw may have to adapt to a centre-back role. But with Lisandro Martinez in such fine form, it is still hard to see how he fits as a starter.
