United quickly appointed Ruben Amorim as Ten Hag’s replacement, leaving the Dutchman without a club less than three months into the season.

We would have expected Ten Hag to be right in the mix for the Dortmund job but there has been a setback.
Sky German’s Florian Plettenberg claims that discussions did take place between Dortmund and Ten Hag on Wednesday.
However, the deal is considered ‘too expensive’ with Ten Hag ultimately still on United’s payroll.
Dortmund just can’t afford to pay up for Ten Hag and it now looks unlikely that he will be their next manager.
Dortmund still chasing Marcus Rashford
Ten Hag seemingly won’t be heading to Dortmund and will have to wait a little longer for his next managerial opportunity.
The speculation surrounding Ten Hag to Dortmund has come just as rumours have suggested that Marcus Rashford could end up there.
Dortmund are interested in taking Rashford on loan for rest of the season, just as they did with Jadon Sancho last year.
There are thought to be concerns inside Dortmund about signing Rashford, mostly surrounding his position rather than anything personal.
A reunion between Ten Hag and Rashford would have been quite the sight for United fans, but it looks like that won’t be happening – and it may well be that neither of them end up at Dortmund after all.
