Donny van de Beek agrees terms ahead of United loan exit

Donny van de Beek has agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace over a loan exit from Manchester United exit, according to the Manchester Evening News.

He has also agreed terms with two other clubs, who are not named in the report.

That means that the choice of his next destination seems up to him, with all three potential suitors willing to pay his full wages.

One of the other clubs is also in the Premier League, while the third is from overseas. There have been links with Valencia.

United finally loaned out Anthony Martial to Sevilla this week and the situation moved quickly once the wheels were in motion.

It seems like a similar situation could emerge with van de Beek, although he of course has to decide where he feels is best for his next move.

The report says that any club loaning van de Beek could have to pay a loan fee.

That has proved a stumbling block for Jesse Lingard’s loan exit, with United reportedly demanding a huge package from Newcastle for a player who is out of contract in the summer.

United have seemingly been keen to keep fringe players like van de Beek in the event of an injury crisis or Covid outbreak.

But that is not good for the players themselves and van de Beek is clearly one who just needs to go out and play to get his confidence back.

It would be intriguing to see him remain in the Premier League because he has not had a fair crack of the whip in the English top flight yet.

Going to Palace and shining could allay reported fears about a lack of physicality and it is to be hoped that he can go and reignite his career before Monday’s deadline.
