Mason Greenwood set up Manchester United’s first goal under Ralf Rangnick and then scored the second in spectacular style.
Rangnick has already outlined where he wants Greenwood to improve and he has a great reputation for working with young players.
Greenwood is already a star in the making with teammates Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire tipping him for greatness in September.
And Crystal Palace defender Nathan Ferguson has told UMM about how good Greenwood is and what it is like seeing someone he has faced at age group levels coming through the ranks establishing himself in United’s first team.

When asked which player he follows on Instagram is a nightmare to play against, Ferguson said: “Maybe Mason Greenwood, you know.
“I’ve played against this guy in tournaments about four times and he is a problem to play against. He is just quick!
“It’s cool to see someone you played with playing in the first team. Now he’s playing in the Prem and doing his thing.”
Ferguson is still waiting for his Palace debut, having suffered a serious knee injury after moving there from West Brom in July 2020. He is working his way back to fitness.
Greenwood will need to take on board what Rangnick is asking of him in terms of beefing up physically to get to that next level but he is more than capable.
The ability he has to shoot off both feet is exceptional and in 2022, he will hope to establish himself as a regular in the England squad too.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Gareth Southgate came to an agreement to leave Greenwood out of all the squads this season to allow him to manage his fitness and perhaps expectations and exposure too.
But in the next 12 months, he can go on and make himself a real contender for the Qatar World Cup, where the Three Lions will be looking to go one better than their Euro 2020 penalty shootout defeat to Italy in the final.
