Manchester United have made a huge financial commitment to bring Bryan Mbeumo to Old Trafford this summer.
Overall, Manchester United will pay £71m for Bryan Mbeumo, including add-ons. However, Ineos agreed with Brentford to spread the fee over a four-year period.
Brentford changed their valuation of Mbeumo throughout the transfer saga, which frustrated United’s transfer team. Eventually, the third bid was enough to get a deal over the line.
Some of United’s chiefs accept they paid a lot for Mbeumo, but it was necessary to make sure the 25-year-old was in Ruben Amorim’s squad for the upcoming US tour.

Man United have struck a bargain deal for Bryan Mbeumo
The Mbeumo deal now ranks sixth on United’s most expensive transfers of all time, with Cunha’s arrival ranking eighth.
It also marks the biggest deal made under Ineos so far, but they will be pleased with their business after chasing Mbeumo’s signature for over six weeks.
According to The Athletic, Brentford were braced for Mbeumo’s exit this summer after accepting that it would be hard to keep him.
The Bees projected that another productive season from Mbeumo could raise his value to £80m.
United grew frustrated at Brentford playing hard-ball, but it seems the Red Devils may have struck a bargain after all.
At just 25 years old, Mbeumo will be spending his prime years at Old Trafford, and his value could soar if he fulfils his exciting potential.
Bryan Mbeumo is now Man United’s second most valuable player
Mbeumo has been brought in at United to add goals, creativity and intensity to Amorim’s side. After scoring 20 goals in the Premier League last season, he will hope for similar output in 2025/26.
According to Transfermarkt, Mbeumo’s market value is £47m, which has doubled in the past two years.
In terms of United’s full squad, that ranks Mbeumo as the second most valuable player in Amorim’s squad, behind only Cunha who is valued at £52m.
United may have spent over £130m on their two new additions, but they have immediately cemented themselves as the two most valuable players in the dressing room.
Their values will only continue to climb if they continue their promising trajectory at Old Trafford.
