Manchester United’s stars were thrilled to have fans back at Old Trafford for the final home game of the season.

10,000 supporters were in attendance for the fixture, and striker Edinson Cavani immediately gave fans reason to be excited.

The Uruguayan scored United’s goal, chipping the goalkeeper from around 40 yards out. It was a special goal worthy of the cheers and celebrations it prompted.

Cavani sent a message to supporters expressing how pleased he was to finally play in front of United fans.

Cavani’s message translated read: “How nice to hear from the Fans again👏🤝💪 …”

Cavani’s comments were echoed by teammates Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay.

Both players expressed their delight at being able to see and hear supporters once again, after a 14 month absence of crowds at games.

United were held to a 1-1 draw, but Chelsea’s win over Leicester means second place is sealed anyway with one game to go.

There will be plenty of rotation for the final fixture against Wolves, before the all important Europa League final.

The past fortnight has been strange, with so many games crammed together with nothing really riding on them with top four secured back against Aston Villa.

It has seemed like the players are going through the motions a little, and the results have showed it.

Cavani’s goal was an exceptional and memorable moment. Let’s hope he has another of them ready for when United take on Villareal in the final next week.
