He has just gone from playing for the Spurs academy last season to potentially making his Man Utd debut against Rosenborg this week.
United have shown remarkable trust in him with this gesture, and it shows that he’s already being fast-tracked to have an eventual first-team place.
If it wasn’t clear before, it is clear now that Thompson is firmly a first-team signing, and he’s coming for the LW spot as soon as this week against Rosenborg.
