Manchester United have undergone two coaching overhauls in the past 12 months, with Benni McCarthy one casualty.
Last summer, Ineos came very close to sacking Erik ten Hag when he dragged Manchester United to an eighth-place finish in the Premier League.
Instead, United underwent an overhaul in the coaching staff with Benni McCarthy one coach to leave as his contract expired. Mitchell van der Gaag was another to leave.
United replaced these with the likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake who have both since left as well upon the appointment of Ruben Amorim.
Head coach roles have awaited many of the sacked staff, and now McCarthy has also got himself into a head coach role at an international level.

Benni McCarthy finds new job in football after Manchester United exit
Even while he was at United, McCarthy always hinted at wanting a bigger role at a club.
Ultimately, last June saw McCarthy’s contract expire as he headed out in search of a head coach role. This was despite the South African being a popular figure with the United squad.
Now, the former Porto striker, who was part of Jose Mourinho’s iconic side, has confirmed his latest coaching role and it sees him take charge of the Kenyan national team, which he confirmed on Instagram.
“Looking forward to my new role as Head Coach of the Kenya National Team”, McCarthy wrote
This is McCarthy’s first role in international football, with his prior roles being the Cape Town City manager and also AmaZulu FC manager.
After the announcement, United players were sending him messages in the comments.
Bruno Fernandes among responses to Benni McCarthy becoming Kenya manager
McCarthy’s impact on Marcus Rashford at United will long be remembered as he helped the 27-year-old to a 30-goal season.
This is not the only example, as McCarthy labelled Bruno Fernandes ‘captain fantastic’ which symbolised his close relationship with the team – likely playing the role of ‘good cop’ among the ‘bad cop’ which Ten Hag was.
Now in response to McCarthy’s new job, Bruno has commented with a response: “Well deserved bro, best luck in the world”.

Joining Bruno was Lisandro Martinez: “Hits on bro! You deserve all the best.”
Several other United stars liked the post which announced McCarthy’s new role. The new era for Kenya begins on March 17th against Gambia in a World Cup qualifier.
