Senne Lammens is turning out to be a wonderful signing for Manchester United after his first five appearances.
Manchester United left it late to reshuffle their goalkeeping department, but on deadline day, an £18 million deal for Senne Lammens was agreed.
The 23-year-old Belgian shot-stopper arrived to take the place of outgoing Andre Onana, although he had to be patient to get into Ruben Amorim’s starting XI.
However, once Senne Lammens was introduced as a starter, he has not looked back. United’s No.31 remains unbeaten as a United player after featuring in the five-game unbeaten streak.
United fans have made tongue-in-cheek comparisons between Lammens and Peter Schmeichel, but former Red Devil Ben Foster has spotted an elite trait in the summer signing.

Ben Foster wowed by what Senne Lammens is doing
When Onana and Altay Bayindir were United’s goalkeeping options, Amorim’s side often struggled to deal with crosses and set pieces.
Amorim has improved United’s set pieces drastically since taking charge, and Lammens is playing a big role defensively.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Foster was amazed at Lammens’ confidence when coming to claim crosses into the box.
“He’s got this confidence about him. He’s coming out for balls into the box, crosses, where I’m thinking – normally you’re talking about seasoned Premier League goalkeepers that do this kind of stuff,” Foster said.
“He’s doing it from the get-go.
“It still remains to be seen whether he’s got the X-factors, those little bits that make a good goalie a great goalie.
What Paul Scholes said about Senne Lammens before he made his Man Utd debut
“If you look at some of the best goalies in the world at the moment, your Alisson or your Thibaut Courtois, Emiliano Martinez, they’ve got lots of little X-factors that make them world-class.
“Whether Lammens has got that in his game remains to be seen, but it’s a fantastic start.”
Senne Lammens is fixing long-term Man United problem
During his time at Old Trafford, Onana made critical mistakes as United’s goalkeeper, and it appeared to shatter his confidence.
In particular, the Cameroon international would rarely come off his line to claim crosses, and it meant that corners became a real Achilles’ heel for the Red Devils.
However, Lammens recovers from mistakes well, and he proved that in the latest 2-2 draw against Tottenham after he recovered from an early blunder where he allowed the ball to run under his foot for a corner.

Despite his early wobble, Lammens continued to put on a brilliant goalkeeping display, including rushing out to claim corners and crosses to ease pressure on his back line.
It is no coincidence that United’s defensive set-piece record has improved since Lammens was introduced.
