Amad is in great international form, having also starred in AFCON over the winter period. With £112m-rated Yan Diomande on the other flank, Ivory Coast have a fantastic attacking department.

Amad’s message to Yan Diomande after Ivory Coast win

In the win over Ecuador, Amad outshone Diomande, but the Red Bull Leipzig winger was also one of the best players on the pitch.

After the victory, Diomande took to Instagram to celebrate his World Cup debut.

He wrote: “Good start in the Fifa World Cup competition. Proud and happy to have played my first match in the World Cup. A dream come true.”

Amad was quick to reply to his international teammate, commenting: “Golden boy”.

During AFCON, United fans wanted Amad to convince Diomande to join United, and it seems they are building a close connection over the World Cup.
