Yan Diomande may be one of the most sought-after wingers in the market, but Manchester United are not planning a summer swoop for the RB Leipzig star.
Manchester United’s priority in the transfer window will be their midfield, hence why there is already an agreement in place for Ederson to join after the 2026 World Cup.
The Red Devils will make more midfield signings as they prepare for life without Casemiro and potentially Manuel Ugarte.
Still, that hasn’t stopped United from being linked with players in different positions. A left-back or winger and experienced striker could be signed to bolster Michael Carrick’s squad, meaning the media have had a field day linking the club with an ever-growing list of potential targets.

Should Yan Diomande be Man Utd’s top winger target this summer?
Man Utd not in transfer race for Yan Diomande
When it comes to the Ivory Coast at the World Cup, United fans will be focused solely on Amad Diallo.
That won’t be changing anytime soon despite links to RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande, who managed 23 goal contributions (13 goals and 10 assists) across the 2025/26 campaign.
Diomande, who has been strongly linked to Liverpool, will be watched closely at the World Cup amid reports a deal for the winger could cost in the region of £112 million.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Ben Jacobs provided an update on Diomande, stressing that United are not currently active in the race to sign the talented 19-year-old.
Jacobs claims United told Diomande that if they were to sign him, he’d play on the left wing, whereas other suitors like Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain view the Ivorian as a right-sided winger.
“Man United now not really active,” Jacobs said.
“They were a few weeks ago, but they were pitching to Diomande, you’re playing on the left, whereas Liverpool and PSG like him as a right-sided predominant player and that is his preferred side as it stands, even though he started his career on the left-hand side.”
Diomande and Amad will begin their World Cup campaign against Ecuador on Monday.
