Amad Diallo is having a sensational season at Manchester United despite the club’s poor results.
After being starved of game time, Amad Diallo almost left under Erik ten Hag. However, since Ruben Amorim’s arrival, he has enjoyed an incredible rise to stardom.
Amorim has been full of praise for Amad after his strong start to the season. The 22-year-old initially embraced a wing-back role under the Portuguese head coach before starring in a more advanced role recently.
He has been going from strength to strength with Amad starring against Liverpool at the start of January. His strong performance at Anfield came just a few weeks after his sensational winner against Manchester City.
Rio Ferdinand has been blown away by Amad, and the Ivory Coast international is now in the running for a Premier League award.

Amad Diallo nominated for Player of the Month
United played seven games across the month of January, winning five of them and losing just once.
Just days after scoring a penalty in the shootout win over Arsenal in the FA Cup, Amad scored his first hat-trick in a 3-1 win over Southampton.
After scoring four Premier League goals over January, Amad has been nominated for the January Player of the Month award.
Amad is one of six nominees, alongside one Premier League striker that United have been told to sign.
Jean-Philippe Mateta competes with Amad Diallo
While United enjoyed a strong run of results in January, the Red Devils started February with a 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.
That defeat last weekend exposed United’s lack of threat up front, meanwhile Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta haunted United by scoring twice.
Amorim started Kobbie Mainoo up front against Palace after losing faith in Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee – the difference between the two sides’ striking options was staggering.

After the match, Paul Merson urged United to sign Mateta, suggesting he was “100 times better than anyone” currently at the club.
Mateta is among Amad in the Player of the Month nominations, alongside Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert and Manchester City’s Phil Foden.
