Agent says Manchester United man could leave unless Erik Ten Hag is sacked

The agent of Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri has indicated that his future at the Premier League giants could depend on what happens regarding Erik ten Hag’s own Old Trafford future.

Jadon Sancho is not the only winger loaned out by the Red Devils and facing an uncertain long-term future in England’s north west. As long as Erik ten Hag remains the Manchester United manager, Sancho will be something of a persona non grata. There ain’t enough room in this town for the both of them, it seems.

Facundo Pellistri, heading out to Granada after Sancho returned to Dortmund, may find himself in a similar situation, albeit his January departure was one borne out of a desire for more regular minutes rather than a very public dispute between player and coach.

Does Facundo Pellistri have a future at Manchester United?

“Whether he returns to Manchester in the middle of the year will depend on the performance he shows (at Granada). If Ten Hag continues, it’s going to be difficult,” Edgardo Lasalvia tells Sport 890.

“(Ten Hag) hasn’t used him, valued him, or treated him like a professional.”

A little harsh maybe. But the fact is that Pellistri started only one Premier League game in the first half of this season, despite the absences of both Sancho and Antony for long spells.

The £9 million Uruguay international jetted out to Spain on Tuesday. He should finally become a Granada player today, per Fabrizio Romano. Pellistri is still to undergo medical tests at the relegation-threatened La Liga outfit.

‘Ten Hag didn’t use him’

“He has a loan that the boy decided to go on,” Lasalvia adds, the sight of him sitting on the bench during the 4-2 FA Cup victory over Newport County something of a final straw for the agent.

“All of Manchester knew, (Ten Hag) summoned him against a fourth division team and he didn’t use him.”

Pellistri joins a Granada side sitting five points adrift of safety in La Liga. They went down 2-0 to Mason Greenwood’s Getafe on Monday. He could be tasked with replacing Granada talisman Bryan Zaragoza, should Bayern Munich sign the £13 million forward a few months ahead of schedule.
