Manchester United wore their new home shirt for the first time in a competitive game against Leeds last weekend.

Next up is a trip to St Mary’s to face Southampton for their first away match of the season.

Obviously, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side play in red and white, so United will need to wear one of their change strips.

United have launched both a new away kit and a new third kit in recent weeks but which will get its first airing this weekend?

Which kit will Manchester United wear vs Southampton?

As per the club website, United will wear their new third kit at Southampton.

The match will be the first time the new blue strip has been worn in a game of any kind.

United fans will hope to see Raphael Varane make his first appearance for the club wearing it this weekend.

The kit may also be the one in which Jadon Sancho makes his first competitive United start.

United’s choice of away kit at Southampton has created headlines in the past.

Back in April 1996, United wore their grey away kit at the Dell and went in 3-0 down at half time.

Gary Neville shared in August 2019 exactly why Sir Alex Ferguson ordered United to change at half-time.

The legendary boss didn’t feel United’s players could pick each other out in the grey strip, but there will be no such problems this weekend, hopefully en route to another three points.
