Predicted Man Utd line-up to face Chelsea, Ruben Amorim makes three changes for must-win clash

Manchester United will be aiming to relieve the increasing pressure on Ruben Amorim by beating Chelsea at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.

It has been a difficult campaign so far for Manchester United, with just one win from the opening four Premier League games.

Following last week’s 3-0 Manchester derby defeat, it is absolutely pivotal that the Red Devils manage to pick up three points against Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca has already predicted a tough game, with United a better team than the results currently showcase.

However, the pressure is growing around Amorim, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe flying into Carrington this week for talks.

How Manchester United could line-up against Chelsea

With the Chelsea game widely being considered a must-win for United, to relieve pressure and build some momentum, Amorim should be preparing a strong team.

Amorim confirmed Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount are available, while speaking to the press on Friday, although he stated that Diogo Dalot remains out.

So with the need to win and a strong group available, here is our predicted side to take on Chelsea.

Senne Lammens

Lammens has been impressing during United training, and with Altay Bayindir having a horror campaign, we fully expect the Belgian to start this one.

Noussair Mazraoui

After the rocky defensive performance last week, there needs to be a change, and we think Mazraoui will drop back into the right centre-back role.

Matthijs de Ligt

Last week, De Ligt was backed by Jaap Stam, which as good an endorsement as possible. We think he will absolutely start here against Chelsea.

Leny Yoro

Moving from the right to the left to replace Luke Shaw, we think Yoro should be in on the left to sure up that side against Cole Palmer and potentially Estevao.

Amad

After a disappointing showing at the number 10 last weekend, Amad should be back on the right track to face Chelsea, where he might have to defend against the returning Alejandro Garnacho.

Casemiro

Against Chelsea’s midfield, it is almost guaranteed that United will be overrun, so playing Casemiro would be our choice just to sit in and be a bit of a destroyer. But it will be a losing battle no matter who starts.

Bruno Fernandes

Put simply, Fernandes needs to improve his performances this season, and with the returning names, we expect he will be in the number eight again. There is growing clamour to sell Fernandes but that could be forgotten easily with a big performance here.

Patrick Dorgu

There has been unfair criticism of Dorgu, which comes as he is being asked to do a job more befitting a proper winger, but he seems undroppable right now due to limited options.

Bryan Mbeumo

The star man for Amorim this season has been Mbeumo so far, and he needs another big performance against Chelsea. Mbeumo is United’s MVP right now, and we expect him to be key on Saturday.

Matheus Cunha

Back to full fitness and back in the starting line-up, Cunha should be raring to go against Chelsea. This week, Cunha has been saying he’s ready to play, and so we think he will be slightly more ready than Mount, for example.

Benjamin Sesko

Rounding out the 11 and for the first time, Sesko starts with the brand new front three all together. This will be the first test for United’s recruitment, and failing to score would not reflect well on the near £200m outlay.
