Manchester United cannot go on much longer in the way Ruben Amorim’s reign has so far failed.
10 months into Ruben Amorim’s time at the helm of Manchester United, and things are supposed to be much better at this stage than they currently are.
This season has been United’s worst start since 1992, with four points from the opening four games, which sees the Red Devils sit 14th in the table.
As a result, several managers have been linked with replacing Amorim, although this decision is not thought to be imminent.
For now, Ineos remains in support of Amorim; however, that won’t last forever if he doesn’t start winning games.
Now, this week has seen Sir Jim Ratcliffe take a more active role around Carrington.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe presence at Carrington is clear message to Ruben Amorim
This season needs improvement, and immediately for United to avoid entering absolute crisis mode. The past week has seen plenty of talk about the future of Amorim and Ineos’ plans.
Now, speaking on Thursday night, Fabrizio Romano insisted that Ratcliffe is continuing to work with Amorim.
“Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to be present and involved in the process to understand what is not working, why Manchester United are performing at this level.
“Sir Jim Ratcliffe flew into Carrington and had several meetings, but sources make it clear these were already planned. But within these meetings, there was also a direct face-to-face meeting with Ruben Amorim.”
Continuing, Romano admitted that Ratcliffe flying into Carrington is a clear statement of the point United have reached.
“Manchester United have not started any official conversations with other managers out of respect for Ruben Amorim. However, it is important to say results are needed; things cannot continue like this forever. Amorim is fully aware. The presence of the co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is quite a clear message.”
Ruben Amorim needs Manchester United to beat Chelsea
While this weekend is a tough challenge for United, for Amorim, it has become a must-win to get some sort of momentum and belief back into the fanbase.

If United are able to beat Chelsea, there is a good opportunity to finally string some results together for the first time under Amorim, which would rubbish talk of a managerial change.
United have played better than the results show, with poor finishing and defensive errors taking arguably five points from Amorim.
Amorim needs wins and quickly; if United struggle through until the next international break, the noise around the club could simply reach breaking point.
