Ruud van Nistelrooy ends his time as interim manager on Sunday when Manchester United take on Leicester City.

With Ruben Amorim’s contract officially starting on Monday, Ruud van Nistelrooy will conclude his time as the interim manager in the exact same way he started it just under two weeks ago.

Old Trafford gets to see a repeat of the 5-2 Carabao Cup fourth-round win which started the Van Nistelrooy era at Manchester United. Winning or drawing would mean he ends unbeaten with potentially a 75 per cent win rate.

However, Leicester will still pose plenty of problems and Van Nistelrooy needs to answer them with his team selection. United winning would be a huge turning point ahead of Amorim’s arrival – leaving the red devils bang in form and rising up the table.

But before we can put the win in the books, Van Nistelrooy needs to consider his team selection.

How Manchester United could line-up against Leicester City

As we reach game week 11 in the Premier League – Van Nistelrooy’s squad options are likely the exact same as he had on Thursday in a 2-0 win against PAOK.

With that in mind, here’s our predicted line-up for the game.

Andre Onana

Starting in goal, Andre Onana is an undeniable starter and he’ll be looking to continue his quest to win the golden glove this season – currently boasting four clean sheets.

Noussair Mazraoui

In at right-back will be Noussair Mazraoui. The Moroccan is arguably the signing of the season for United and he’s very likely to star on the right side.

Matthijs de Ligt

In at centre-half on the right side should be Matthijs de Ligt after he was completely rested mid-week against PAOK.

Lisandro Martinez

Partnering De Ligt should be Lisandro Martinez, as the Argentinian defender has begun to look much better in recent weeks after a slow start to the season.

Diogo Dalot

Left-back sees Diogo Dalot starting once again – as he looks to end up faltering run of form before Amorim arrives.

Manuel Ugarte

After a poor game against Chelsea, Manuel Ugarte impressed against PAOK and should be in line for a start once again – as his partnership with Casemiro continues to grow.

Casemiro

As mentioned, Casemiro and Ugarte are developing a good understanding and this should see them kept together again in this game.

Amad Diallo

On the right, we expect a second successive start for Thursday’s hero Amad Diallo. Two goals on Amad stole the headlines and proved that he deserves to be starting.

Bruno Fernandes

Three goals and an assist for Bruno Fernandes in the last three games sees the United captain return to form and we fully expect him to start here.

Marcus Rashford

On the left, Alejandro Garnacho deserves to be dropped and to be rested in this game after a couple of poor displays. Therefore, Marcus Rashford should start – especially after being dropped mid-week.

Joshua Zirkzee

With Rasmus Hojlund struggling on Thursday, we would like to see Joshua Zirkzee given the chance to reignite his season against Leicester.
