Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim still has a tough test ahead of him for the Red Devils’ forthcoming Premier League encounter with relegation-threatened Wolves.
The Red Devils visited the Molineux earlier this month and Manchester United thrashed Wolves in a 4-1 Premier League result after overcoming an initial scare.
Ruben Amorim’s major update on Bruno Fernandes ahead of Man Utd vs Wolves… 🎙️😐
On a scale of 1️⃣ to 1️⃣ 0️⃣, how confident are YOU that Man Utd will beat Wolves without Bruno Fernandes’ involvement? 🤔
Wolves have been in woeful form in the 2025-26 Premier League season and will arrive at Old Trafford on the back of 16 league defeats from 18 matches.
Despite the miserable run of the results for Rob Edwards’ side, Ruben Amorim cannot be complacent with his United side amid his limited first-team squad options.
Here is United In Focus’ prediction for the United starting XI that Amorim could select for the Premier League clash against Wolves at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.

Goalkeeper and defenders for Man Utd for the Wolves match, including a start for Leny Yoro
GK: Senne Lammens
The Manchester United No 1 has impressed in the 12 Premier League matches since his deadline-day move from Belgian Pro League side Royal Antwerp in September.
Senne Lammens secured his second Red Devils clean sheet in United’s 1-0 win over Newcastle on Boxing Day and there is zero chance Altay Bayindir is dethroning him now.
CB: Leny Yoro
Leny Yoro was dropped from the starting XI for United’s encounter with Newcastle last Friday evening before coming off the bench in the second half at Old Trafford.
The 20-year-old United fan favourite’s form has been hit and miss in recent weeks, but Ruben Amorim has kept faith with Leny Yoro amid his struggles this season.
CB: Ayden Heaven
The 19-year-old United youth academy prospect has risen to the challenge of filling the void left behind by the injuries of Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt.
Ayden Heaven played the full 90 minutes for United in the victory over Newcastle and his display has all but sealed his place in the starting XI again.
CB: Lisandro Martinez
Lisandro Martinez stepped in as a replacement United captain for the injured Bruno Fernandes for the Newcastle match and his presence was not going unnoticed.
United fans loved seeing Lisandro Martinez’s performance at Old Trafford, which was his first start of the Premier League season since his return from a long-term knee injury.
The 27-year-old United defender is expected to take his place in the backline and the captain’s armband again for Tuesday evening’s encounter with Wolves.

Man Utd wing-back and midfield starters against Wolves at Old Trafford, including another opportunity for Manuel Ugarte
RWB: Patrick Dorgu
Patrick Dorgu was one of the standout performers in United’s last Premier League encounter and ensured that the Red Devils walked away with all three points.
The 21-year-old Danish wing-back played in a more advanced position against Newcastle after Ruben Amorim tweaked his United system and tactical set-up.
It remains to be seen if Amorim pivots his formation again, but irrespective of the tactical set-up, Patrick Dorgu is expected to start against Wolves at Old Trafford.
CM: Casemiro
Casemiro returned from a one-match suspension for the Newcastle match and only played 60 minutes before he was subbed off by United manager Amorim.
Amorim broke his silence on Casemiro coming off early in the 1-0 win over the Magpies, but the 33-year-old midfielder is certain to be in the two-man pivot.
CM: Manuel Ugarte
Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo are both out of action and Manuel Ugarte is the only experienced option to partner alongside Casemiro in the United midfield.
Manuel Ugarte played the full 90 minutes for United in the Newcastle match and the 24-year-old Uruguayan defensive midfielder put in a solid performance on the day.
LWB: Diogo Dalot
If Patrick Dorgu is on the right flank as a wing-back, then it is only natural that Diogo Dalot is going to operate on the left flank in the wing-back role under Amorim.
Diogo Dalot has lacked consistency as an inverted wing-back in the 2025-26 season, but the Portuguese full-back has been a safe pick for ex-Sporting CP boss Amorim.
Predicted Man Utd XI vs Wolves for the FINAL Old Trafford showdown of 2025… 🔮👀
Should Leny Yoro return to the starting XI for Man Utd? 🤔 Should Jack Fletcher start ahead of Manuel Ugarte? 💥 Will Benjamin Sesko break his goalscoring drought? ⚽️❌ Let us know YOUR feelings!
Man Utd attackers are limited for the Wolves match and Matheus Cunha is more important than ever
CF/LF: Matheus Cunha
Bryan Mbeumo is away with the Cameroon national team at the 2025 AFCON tournament and Mason Mount is also a doubt for the Red Devils’ match on Tuesday.
Matheus Cunha is one of the few United attacking players who isn’t injured or away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations competition this month.
With that said, Matheus Cunha’s presence is more important than ever for United against his former side, especially with the Red Devils lacking the influence of Bruno Fernandes as well.
ST: Benjamin Sesko
Goals have been limited in his debut season at Old Trafford, but Benjamin Sesko is always going to have the advantage to lead the frontline for United ahead of Joshua Zirkzee.
Benjamin Sesko has only netted twice in 13 Premier League matches for United and the 22-year-old Slovenian could receive a major goalscoring boost in momentum against Wolves.
