Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has dropped his verdict on Bruno Fernandes’ current injury status ahead of the Wolves match on Tuesday evening.

The 31-year-old Red Devils skipper missed the Newcastle match on Boxing Day due to an injury that he picked up in United’s 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Fernandes suffered a muscle injury in the first half of the Aston Villa match this month and Ruben Amorim hooked him off for the second half of the clash.
The Red Devils overcame their setback from the Fernandes injury by returning to winning ways against Newcastle in the Premier League clash last Friday evening.

Manchester United will play their final Premier League match of 2025 on Tuesday evening, with kick-off for the Wolves clash slated for 8:15pm UK time.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, United manager Ruben Amorim ruled out that Bruno Fernandes could make his return against Wolves in any capacity.

“No chance [that] he is going to play against Wolves, no chance,” he said, as per the Independent.
“You can write that.”
Fernandes has remained an influential figure for Amorim’s reign at Old Trafford and the Portuguese midfielder earned high praise for his leadership at the Red Devils.
“He’s the guy [who] is watching training even after treatment,” Amorim said.
“He’s going there. I don’t know if he wants my job or not, but he’s a leader. The guy is a leader.”

Amorim made the call to withdraw Mason Mount at half-time in a surprise move during United’s 1-0 Premier League win over Newcastle at Old Trafford last week.
Jack Fletcher came on in place of him for the second half and Amorim later admitted that it was a precautionary move to protect Mason Mount from any major injuries.
According to The Daily Mail’s Chris Wheeler on X, Mount is currently a doubt for the Wolves match and Amorim has been left ‘waiting to see’ if the player ‘will be fit.’

“I don’t know how Mase is going to be for that game,” Amorim said.
Along with Fernandes, Amorim is expected to be without Mason Mount, Matthijs de Ligt and Kobbie Mainoo for the Premier League clash against Wolves.
“I think Kobbie Mainoo is not going to be ready,” he added.
“Bruno is not going to be ready. I think Matt is not going to be ready. Harry is not going to be ready. So, I think we are not going to have more players.”
United are sixth in the Premier League table and the Red Devils are only three points adrift from fourth-place Liverpool in the race for the top four this season.
