Manchester United fans’ reactions to Senne Lammens spoke volumes after the Red Devils’ Premier League encounter with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Michael Carrick ensured the Red Devils’ return to Europe for the 2026-27 campaign after Manchester United’s win against Liverpool at Old Trafford last weekend.

Man Utd chalked up a 3-2 victory over Liverpool in their huge Premier League top-four showdown ahead of the Red Devils’ trip to the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

Michael Carrick is tipped for the permanent United manager role in the summer after United’s turnaround in form this season has led to Champions League qualification.

Man Utd fans react to Senne Lammens after what they saw in the Sunderland match at the Stadium of Light

Manchester United fans on United In Focus’ TalkingPoints singled out Senne Lammens and hailed the Red Devils No 1 as the standout performer.

One Man Utd fan said: “Yeah, he [Lammens] was good. Made up for his mistake against Liverpool. Did his job.”

“Lammens was my MOTM. He made two of three very important saves,” another Red Devils supporter wrote.

While a third added: “Such an impressive talent. We are so lucky to have him. Even if it does create an awkward situation with [Radek] Vitek.”

“Senne Lammens [was MOTM]; without him, this would have been a defeat,” someone else commented.

And another posted: “Has to be [Lammens for Man of the Match]. Could’ve been an ugly afternoon without him.”

“Lammens [was MOTM] for me. Did his job and kept it from being worse,” a sixth claimed.

Man Utd and Sunderland had to settle for sharing the Premier League points after the scorelines remained 0-0 by the full-time whistle at the Stadium of Light.

United’s next Premier League clash will be against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford, with next Sunday’s fixture slated for kick-off at 12:30pm in the UK.
