Bruno Fernandes reacts to Ineos backing Michael Carrick as Man Utd’s permanent manager
Michael Carrick oversaw his first Premier League win as the permanent Manchester United manager at the weekend after his impact in the 2025-26 campaign.
The 44-year-old United legend had overseen 16 Premier League matches as interim head coach after Ineos had sacked Ruben Amorim from his role back in January.
Ineos made the call to appoint Carrick as Ruben Amorim’s long-term successor at United on Friday ahead of the Premier League visit to the Amex on Sunday.
Speaking after Man Utd’s 3-0 win over Brighton, Fernandes spotlighted the importance of Ineos throwing their backing behind Carrick as the head coach.
“Obviously, it is a very important step for our club,” he told Sky Sports, as per BBC Sport.
“We need stability in terms of managing and since Michael came to the club. You know how calm he is and the calmness he gives to the team, but also in the moments he needs to put pressure on us, he does too.”
