So it is just as well the defenders know where the net is. In addition to an own goal from Ipswich Town, centre-backs Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire scored the goals in the 3-2 home victory.
Maguire’s headed goal was his third of the season, all of them have been vital ones.

Harry Maguire had a testing game away at Everton, making mistakes for the first goal, and partially involved in the late penalty appeal.
But what you always get from Maguire is resolve to keep going, and keep fighting. It’s the reason he is still a Manchester United player.
He was resolute against Ipswich, and showed a growing threat from Bruno Fernandes’ set pieces, scoring a header early in the second half.
Maguire posted a message to Instagram, writing: “Match winner at Old Trafford,” celebrating the moment.
Maguire’s message was received positively by teammate and captain Bruno Fernandes, and injured teammate Amad.
Amad posted heart emojis in response to Maguire, showing he is still paying close attention to events at Old Trafford.
Harry Maguire was rock solid
While Manchester United conceded two goals, there was little the centre-back could have done for either of them. This was the perfect time for him to score his first Premier League goal of the season, in addition to his FA Cup and Europa League strikes.
His goal gave 10 man United a lead to defend, and Maguire got stuck in. He won eight duels, more than any other player on the pitch.
He was a threat in the box, landing three efforts on target, from United’s six in total. And his persistence paid off.
