Manchester United’s tattered Premier League campaign was given some respite as they came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Everton’s Goodison Park.
Everton did start as favourites all things considered and there were no surprises from United, conceding comically to Beto first after failing to clear the ball five times then conceding to Doucoure’s header based on pure desire to win the ball.
A 0-2 scoreline at half-time would look like an act of mercy on United considering the performance.
United did have more control of the ball in the second half but remained lifeless until Fernandes pulled one back with a smart free-kick in the 70th minute.
That changed the momentum completely as United bossed proceedings, eventually getting their leveller through Ugarte’s first Man Utd goal.
Late drama had Everton awarded a penalty which was overturned by the referee upon a second look through VAR to give United a point.

Here’s how the players rated-
Andre Onana – 4
Can’t be blamed directly for any goal conceded but has stopped inspiring confidence.
Matthijs de Ligt – 4
Hassled and harried relentlessly which forced him into small mistakes in buildup and defence.
Harry Maguire – 3
Easily outmuscled by Doucure for Everton’s second, the last thing you expect from him.
Noussair Mazraoui – 5
Best of a bad bunch as he tried to play out from the back and remained aggressive.
Patrick Dorgu – 7
Lacking the final product but probably the only player not afraid of getting on the ball and making things happen.
Diogo Dalot – 3
The ball comically bounced off his thigh for Everton’s opener and then hung around near the box.
Casemiro – 3
The Spurs game should’ve been his last for United and so it proved again with another off-the-pace display.
Manuel Ugarte – 6
Played some nice passes and brought United back on level terms with a brilliant strike from the edge of the box.
Bruno Fernandes – 6
Scored his free-kick and ran around to try and make things happen which would be admirable if the team wasn’t a mess.
Joshua Zirkzee – 4
Back down on earth after a positive Spurs game as his slick game was exposed by Everton’s bruteness.
Rasmus Hojlund – 3
The team is Man Utd + 1, that one being Hojlund. Completely disconnected from the setup.

Substitutes
Alejandro Garnacho – 5
No repeat heroics of his Puskas winner at Goodison as he struggled to get involved.
Leny Yoro – 5
Kept the ball circulating with secure passes as United bossed possession after pulling one back.
Chido Obi – 6
Harsh to judge a 17-year-old with less than a half of first-team football, especially in a mess.
